Full Stack Engineer (Python)

Our client is an early stage, seed funded startup in the healthcare technology space, using AI-enabled software to improve patient care and access.

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer with Python, favoring the back end but truly a polyglot with strong product development capabilities.

Responsibilities:

● Write clean, legible, and testable code in Python to parse and index data.

● Articulate tradeoffs in technology choices and relate them to business needs.

● Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical problems in an accessible and compassionate way

● Likely to work across the stack, including frontend technologies all the way through to cloud providers.

● Understand and apply UX principles to maximize the customer experience beyond simply: elegant code.

Requirements

● At least 5 years of experience writing and shipping code professionally in a rapid-paced startup environment.

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science OR demonstrated understanding of CS concepts and problem solving

● Proficiency in development with:

○ Python

○ SQL

○ JavaScript

Bonus Points

● Polyglots! Professional experience in multiple programming languages/stacks is great, so you can make informed, sustainable choices.

Experience and familiarity with any of the following is a plus:

○ Terraform or similar infra-as-code tools

○ PostgreSQL

○ Serverless framework

○ Cloud computing (AWS preferred)

○ React/Vue/JS frameworks

○ Redis

○ Go

○ Node

○ ML/AI tooling

● A strong interest in DevOps methodologies, operational tooling, observability and automation.

● At least some familiarity with US healthcare data security and compliance.

● Recent success in early-stage startups, with the ability to talk to us about growing pains resulting from early technical decisions.

● A deep passion for machine learning and data analysis.

● You believe technology and data science have a role to play to meaningfully impact access to healthcare and improve health outcomes.
