Partnership
Excited to make some new announcements soon....
Meanwhile here's another epic sunset at Dreamore!
Did you see it last night? BEAUTIFUL
These two chairs make me think of partnership.
So here are some deep thoughts 😀
All you founders and partners and single ladies
(oops! Beyonce' just popped into my head!)
I'd love to hear your perspectives
on partnership: the good, the bad, and all the in-betweens.
I've always had a partner,
which sometimes surprised me
in that I am VERY independent
and genuinely like being alone
especially in the Dreamore garden,
where I meditate and make strategic plans.
In my recent journey relaunching the recruiting firm
for purpose-driven companies,
I decided to spread the energy around a bit,
not take on a partner or spouse this time,
and be a true community-minded person,
not hide behind my partner if I was stressed,
not put so many expectations on that one other person,
but be more open,
less fearful,
sharing in the work AND the results.
It felt necessary, even when it's been painful.
And yet I am stronger,
building a life that feels even more fulfilled and purposeful than before.
Partnership is AMAZING
when you have big goals
and someone you trust
to support you,
keep you safe,
offload some energy,
do stuff you're not good at,
celebrate victories together,
and correct you when you're wrong (always with kindness).
Partnership is not so great
when you start growing in a different direction
or not at the same pace
or both - especially over the long haul.
My last partner was also my spouse.
It worked really well
because of the trust factor and shared resources.
That's not for everyone though.
Choose carefully.
Conclusions?
Well, I'm all about growth mindset,
which includes adaptation.
What worked in the past might not work this time,
so it's important to try new things, learn and grow,
and be grateful for the journey.
I would LOVE a partner again,
at least in my personal life (I'm working on it 😍)
Maybe I don't have just one partner
for Dreamore the company,
but instead there's all of these beautiful relationships
from decades of past success,
plus the new ones I'm excited about (yes...YOU).
Dreamore is about imagining the possibilities.
We've been building companies with people
since the 90s
and there's so much more we can do
to grow commerce, community, and creativity.
The website got redone a lil' bit so check it out: https://dreamore.io
