Nature’s Cycles

Celebrating nature's cycles at Dreamore
This was a lot of the conversation on Saturday,
Meeting conscious investors and creators
To enjoy the land and explore business together.

It's an "interesting" era to be building a home and another startup (that helps grow startups)
I won't list all the economic and societal factors here,
Because y'all know them already.
Most of us, at every level, have felt more pain than usual.

I have realized, more than ever:
MINDSET IS EVERYTHING.
I'm working hard and mostly remembering to pace myself,
Enjoy the beautiful garden I've been building for almost four years,
Combined with nature's gifts,
And not falling into a trap of being down on myself,
Because my task list is still SO BIG,
And not everything I've launched is in "flow mode" yet.

This winter has been particularly destructive and annoying.
Hwy 27 is closed through the fall, or longer, because of landslides.
Many homes have been damaged from storms.
We are Californians :) we want warm sunny days like we're used to.

But! everything is a cycle.
There is beauty to be found, even in the bad stuff.
Over the weekend I started saying
"Thank you atmospheric river!"
Because the flowers and trees are so happy now.

In terms of business, it cycles too.
I know a lot of founders and business leaders who are struggling,
But I know many who are resolute, actually doing quite well, or at least teeing up for the next solidly consistent upcycle (as I am, too).

It's all in our mind!
If only it were that simple.
But maybe it is. Like a flower.
